A Local Hero

Part of our push over the next couple of years is the recording and telling of our own stories. The last 50 years have been rich in characters and incidents. One old boy who truly lived Lasallian values was Andrew Harris, tragically lost on Mt Everest while trying to help other members of his climbing group. Archivist Linda Crowe has been assembly a range of resources that highlight Andrew the person and the life he lived, and we hope to bring you some of that story in the near future.

Following on from this research we have received the following notice from Principal Martin Chamberlain.

Fri 14 May we are hosting the parents (Ron and Mary) and the brother (David) of the late Andrew Harris at a whole school assembly at 10:30. This will be a way of remembering a great FDMC hero and a fitting way for us to mark Catholic Schools Day which is on the following Wednesday. All members of the public are welcome.
