Tess Gaffney RIP

The year had a very sad beginning with the passing of Tess Gaffney, long time librarian and full time college supporter. Tess had been ill for some time but maintained her enthusiasim for the college and all the other areas of her life right to the end. Many old boys will recall the passion Tess had for the students and the energy she was able to bring to activities such as the O'Shea Shield. It has been Tess who has collected and maintained the college archives over the last thirty years - something we will be grateful for in the many years to come.

Tess's funeral was held at the college chapel and was very well attended by past and current students.

I remember Tess very well, and am sad to hear that she has passed away.

My memories of her are kind - her helping me out with speech writing, always asking awkward (but on the money) questions, and supplying me with "Scientific American."

The College has lost a great woman...

me too. The best part is she didn't mind if i was in the libary reading even when she knew I had classes on. Oh yes, when Mr Muphy found me in there one time......

May she rest in peace.
